The author analyzed the historical change of the content “environment” on the course of study for kindergarten. A new content “environment” on the course of study for kindergarten added two contents (connection of local and international community, thinking of comparison/ relating). For promoting connection of local and international community, it is important to learn with young children who can speak languages other than Japanese in a familiar environment. For developing think of comparison, teacher indicates a standard of comparison and target of comparison.
