As a general rule, as each school has only one yogo teacher, it is thought that a novice yogo teacher may be forced to deal with troubles single-handedly. The present study aimed to understand the problems that a novice yogo teacher would face at school, and to identify methods for handling them. Semi-structured interviews were conducted from the end of July 2015 to the end of August 2015, with sixteen novice yogo teachers. All participants were females. The following categories of challenges faced by novice yogo teachers were extracted from the data: [Confu-sion regarding the performance of her “first” duties in the new setting], [Experiencing a lack of skills], [Feeling frustrated], [Feeling embarrassed due to contacts with students and their parents with various backgrounds], and [Difficulty in collaborating with class teachers]. In addition, the following methods for dealing with these difficulties were identified: [Asking others for help], [Researching without asking others], and [Trying various measures]. However, some participants were also found to [Leave challenges unsolved].
